About Joanne Løvbakke
Joanne is a BANT-registered Nutritional Therapy Practitioner, graduating in 2021 from the Institute for Optimum Nutrition with distinction.
Using a science-based functional medicine approach, and building on her BSc (Hons) in physiology from the University of St Andrews, Joanne was drawn to study nutritional therapy after experiencing the transformative effects of nutrition & lifestyle medicine on her own health. With a history of chronic fatigue syndrome and PMS, and struggling to manage the day to day of working life, simple dietary changes brought transformative effects: brain fog lifted, energy increased, and digestive and PMS issues eased.
Convinced about the restorative power of good nutrition and lifestyle changes, Joanne now enjoys working alongside clients to unlock the potential of nutrition in their lives.
Explaining a little
About Nutritional Therapy
Nutritional therapy is the application of nutrition and lifestyle medicine sciences in the promotion of health, peak performance and individual care.
Registered Nutritional Therapy Practitioners assess and identify potential nutritional imbalances and understand how these may contribute to an individual’s symptoms and health concerns.
Practitioners consider each individual to be unique and recommend personalised nutrition and lifestyle programmes rather than a ‘one size fits all’ approach.
Personalised nutrition is tailored specifically for you, taking into account your health journey, your health goals, dietary preferences, and emotional and spiritual wellbeing. The practitioner may use functional tests to inform the recommendations that are based on your unique biological individuality.
